Summary: Our world is host to a plethora of different environments and climates, but which countries have all four distinct seasons?
We are all aware of the climatic conditions being significantly varied across the world. The tropical countries are characterised by their warmth and humidity, the temperate ones by their milder weather, and the countries in the frigid areas are almost completely frozen throughout the year. Some countries, such as the United States of America, have different seasons that include winter, spring, summer and fall. Others, especially countries in the tropics like India, have four major climatic seasons: summer, monsoon, winter and spring.
The change in seasons is mainly because of the Earth’s tilt in axis and the earth’s revolution around the sun. The tilt of the Earth is what keeps some countries closer to the sun for a while and others away from it and vice versa. Due to the tilt, different parts of the planet are getting the beams from the sun at different angles, with the closest most direct part of the planet getting the most warmth and heat.
As a result of this, countries in the northern and the southern hemispheres of the earth experience a complete opposition in seasons. Meaning, when the northern hemisphere is experiencing summer, the southern hemisphere is likely to be bathed in winter. Those countries that fall around the equator are less likely to face major variations in weather conditions throughout the year, since their proximity to the sun does not vary all that much due to their positionality. However, those countries at the extremes of the northern and southern hemispheres face very drastic changes in their seasons and temperatures. There is also a very considerable difference in the amount of sunlight that these countries receive, which adds to the extremity of their winters or summers. In some parts of Alaska, the nights are very long during winter and the sun barely appears. During summer, the days are very long with barely any night time.
Recently Travelroof.co.uk/ has been writing about the varing extremes of weather we've been seeing lately. For many countries such as the United States, Canada and the ones within the European continent, there are four very pronounced seasons. Similarly, in certain tropical countries also, this distinction is very visible. In Asia, China and Japan also experience four very distinct seasons. However, for countries like Australia and New Zealand, though there are four seasons, they are in opposition to that experienced in the northern hemisphere. So, don’t be surprised if you head to Australia for Christmas and it’s a sunny and warm summer there, as opposed to the cold and snowy winter that visits parts of the northern hemisphere at the same time of the year.
