Handicrafts are devices or works of art that are made completely by hand or by the use of relatively simple tools. Such goods are usually made in the traditional way of manufacturing goods. Therefore, the knowledge of the art of craft is usually passed down from one generation to another. The items made using these traditional methods of manufacturing are usually produced in smaller quantities and they often represent the culture or religious beliefs of the community that makes them. The goods are also handmade from natural materials that are found in the environment of the particular economy.

How To Make The Most Of Your 'Sick Day'

Posted by Art Of Legend India [dot] Com On 10:43 PM
The Most Of Your 'Sick Day'
Short Summary: If you're constantly on the go you might find yourself at a bit of a loss when you finally get a spare day. Here's how to make the most of your time off.

Do you ever feel like you just need to pull a ‘sickie’? You don’t have to be ill, but sometimes you just feel like you need a day off to do all the things you never get a chance to do because you’re working or spend your weekends entertaining your kids, husband, wife, the in laws, your pets, or any other person who takes up time that you could be spending on yourself.

This is why you should take a ‘sanity day’, a day where you call in sick and spend the hours that you would normally be at work doing exactly what you want to do. Pack your kids and other half off to work and school and get on with the important things, having a bit of ‘me time’.

If you’re constantly on the go you might find yourself at a bit of a loss when you finally get a spare day, so here are a few tips make sure your get the most out of your sneaky day off.

Hit a theme park

If you need to unleash your inner wild child then get yourself to the nearest theme park. You’ll avoid the crowds that you normally get at weekends and during the school holidays, meaning that you’ll be first in line for all your favourite rides.

Scream until your lungs hurt, stuff yourself with too many sweets, and fall into bed feeling tired and content.

Exercise your mind and body

Doing exercise on your day off might sound like madness but doing a gentle workout such as Yoga, Pilates, or even some basic meditation is a great way to recharge your batteries and get your mind focussed for the week ahead.

Switch off your phone, lay out a Yoga mat or towel, and concentrate on your breathing. Even if you don’t manage to completely clear your mind just having some quiet time will make you feel refreshed.

Do nothing

The Japanese word ‘Karoshi’ means ‘death through overwork’ and although we don’t have a word for it in English there are certainly times when you feel dead on your feet because you’ve worked so hard.

Don’t feel guilty about having a day where you do absolutely nothing. Stock up on ready meals or easy to cook foods, put on your onesie, and lay on the sofa all day. The aim of this is not to move except to change the television channel or spoon another mouthful of microwave chicken Chow Mein into your mouth.

Pamper yourself

If you’re going to stay at home all day you may as well make yourself feel good. A trip to Boots will give you all the beauty products you need and then you only need to add a cup of tea or glass of wine for the perfect pamper experience.

All over the country there are people sitting in their dressing gowns right now, enjoying a well-earned ‘sanity day’. So what are you waiting for? Get your ready meals and bubble bath on stand by and start practising that cough!

Rob Rudd is an established writer and writes for several websites. He doesn't usually condone such wreckless behaviour as taking a sick day so perhaps if you a could book the day off as a duvet day or annual leave instead!
